This ones close to our heart. Our first ever GASP project. At Barts Health we engaged with the RecoMed PVC recycling scheme. The scheme take away PVC tubing, oxygen and anaesthetic masks and turn them into tree ties for the horticultural industry. The scheme saves money and GHG release by diverting these items from the clinical waste stream. Across Barts Health we managed to recycle in excess of 450kg on PVC in the first year! We did so well RecoMed use us as one of their case studies. The project was paused due to COVID, but watch this space we may start things up again in the new year.
