Operating theatres use alot of energy. It is common place for equipment, computers, lights and the anaesthetic scavening to be running when the theatre is not in use. We want to put a stop to it. We have created a simple shutdown checklist to be completed by ODPs at the end operating. We are currently looking to install sub-metres at two hospital sites, where we are hoping to see whether our checklist has made a difference.
