Paul has been interested in sustainability in healthcare since he was a core trainee in anaesthesia. After starting as a consultant, he initially undertook several small sustainability projects in the theatre setting, and his interest quickly spiralled into wider sustainability issues in both primary and secondary care. Currently, He is an environmental advisor to the Royal College of Anaesthetists and a recently elected member of College Council. His work within Healthcare Ocean reflects his main current interest in sustainability – that of the impact of healthcare on water and ocean health, namely pharmaceutical pollution.
